Latoya + Kevin’s Wedding was at the Hippodrome Theater, located in Jackson Ward, known as the “Harlem of the South,” a reference, no doubt to the musical talent that it attracted. I even found out that Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday had even preformed there back in the day, how cool is that?! This place is HUGE, truly a place for entertaining, which was perfect for this couple and their 200+ guests!

When I met with Latoya and Kevin, we clicked right away and I knew they wanted their day to be a big celebration with their closest family and friends and despite the super hot day, it was exactly that! Portraits were also important to them, it was no doubt Latoya wanted to show off her gorgeous Pnina Tornai gown, which not many Brides could pull off. She did it with ease and Kevin looked quite dapper himself, in his custom suit, which matched perfectly with the color scheme of the wedding, purple and blue.

For bridesmaid photos before the ceremony, the girls went to the Virginia State Capitol, while the guys went to the Carpenter Theatre, both breathtaking locations! Then a Rolls Royce came to scoop up Latoya like the princess she is to bring her to the Hipp for the ceremony. The vows were some of the sweetest vows I have ever heard and Kevin had the guests laughing when he pulled out a scroll to recite his.

These two are just truly meant to be and there is so much joy that radiates from them. We had so much fun taking photos with the entire bridal party in the nearby parking lot with an amazing mural on the brick wall, capturing the true essence of RVA and its amazing art. We then took married portraits of Latoya and Kevin in front of the Speakeasy Grill, the restaurant located in the historic Taylor Mansion, right next to the Hippodrome Theater. The rest of the night was set for dancing, eating amazing food, and celebrating this power couple, Latoya + Kevin I wish you nothing but the best and hope you are enjoying married life!
