It was one of my New Year’s resolutions to blog more consistently, I’m not out to a great start, but I’m here now! Cassie and Mike’s Wedding was at the end of October in Richmond, more specifically Fulton at Triple Crossing Brewery. When I first talked to them on the phone, they explained that it would be an intimate, laid back wedding that they really just wanted family and friends to have fun. I love small intimate weddings, don’t get me wrong I love the big, all the ‘belles and whistles’ weddings too, but there is something special about stripped down weddings that I’ve always been crazy about.

Cassie and Mike got ready together the morning of their wedding at the Omni, which is also where they got engaged. Funny story, as I  got closer to the Omni I noticed a ton of police officers, roads blocked, even looked like secret service. I always make sure to check to see if any major events are happening many weeks before and always allow extra travel time just incase, I really was dumbfounded. Cassie later explained that Vice President Mike Pence came into town and was also staying at the Omni. No comment, but Cassie and I shared an eye roll together, we definitely would not be asking him for a photo if we saw him 😉

We decided to walk to the nearby Canal Walk Murals and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. It had poured the night before, but it was fairly warm and cloudy skies now, perfect for me! I just loved Cassie’s dress, as I’m always a fan of stepping out of the norm and it had POCKETS, which I’ve always been obsessed with. We had so much fun (and so much time!) for Portraits, just the two of them before they were to officially become Husband and Wife.

It was a short trip to Triple Crossing, which is near and dear to my heart because for one, I love breweries, but also because I practically lived down the street. I always talk about how much I miss Richmond, but more specifically I miss living in  Fulton/Church Hill, where I lived for years. Tripe Crossing is a brewpub, pizza kitchen and the atmosphere, decor, people are amazing. Not to mention, their food is delicious and there is a huge space you can rent out in the back, which was perfect! Everyone had such an amazing time, you could really feel the love and after a few hours, Mike and Cassie exchanged their vows. It truly was an amazing day and I’m so thankful to have been a part of it, cheers!
