It was my pleasure to travel up to Northern Virginia for Chris and Emily’s Maternity Portraits. I photographed their Engagement Portraits in Georgetown, their Wedding in St. Lucia, and now their family is growing by one! I don’t get to travel to NOVA often, but when I do I am always blown away by its beauty. We started out at Hollin Farms late in the afternoon, then visited a vineyard we just happen to pass on our way to Sky Meadows State Park, where we finished the session. I just couldn’t get over the beautiful valleys, meadows, forests, and of course can’t forget those Blue Ridge Mountains. We just don’t have those here in Virginia Beach, it was quite refreshing being able to photograph in stunning, new surroundings.

Emily and Chris (who are practically professional models by now) are such a special couple, near and dear to my heart. They are always down for an adventure and I distinctly remember on their Wedding day, I asked them to climb over a wall to get into an abandon mansion, then stand on the ledge of the balcony, which was very high up and had no barriers because construction was never finished. I knew the photos would be epic, so they did it without hesitation and now they will have those once in a lifetime photos (view them here) to cherish forever! They are gearing up for their latest adventure yet, a baby girl due in January and I cannot WAIT to meet her! I could not be more excited for them and their pup Baxter, which I know will be an amazing baby brother.

Hahaha how cute is their dog?! We had to get this hilarious paw photo just for good fun 😂
