Gather is a Coworking Space located at 409 E. Main Street here in Richmond, VA. It is an alternative solution for those small business owners that don’t have an office space. I know from personal experience that working out of your home is not always glamorous and finding a private place to meet with clients is not easy as well. At Gather you can rent a desk or an office and be amongst other local small business owners, which is brilliant, not to mention professional and affordable!
I had the pleasure of photographing what then would be used as large art installations on the two floors of the building. It was a blast going around Richmond, exploring and taking pictures of whatever caught my eye, some of these spots I had never been before (we may or may not have broken some rules) and it was as if I was experiencing Richmond in a whole new light. After the founders of Gather chose their favorite photos, my boyfriend Robby custom made the frames, various sizes, the largest one being 4 x 6ft.
As a Wedding Photographer, this was really stepping outside the box for me and I’ll admit, this was a lot different than taking photos of people, but I had fun with it and it turned out amazing. It sure is an unreal feeling seeing your photos so big!
Gather’s Grand Opening Festival is this Friday, May 9th at 5pm, stop by for some music, food and drinks, or just to get a tour of the space!
The photos don’t do it justice, but get a glimpse of it here and check out the artwork:
