Emily and Chris are very special to me and it has been such a pleasure getting to know them over the past two years. We’ve shared laughs, tears, family vacations, and I was even there for to witness the proposal … in Hawaii. {If you didn’t get to view that post, check it out HERE!} Robby and I were in on the proposal, hiding out with our cameras to capture it all when Chris popped the question during sunset on Ehukai Beach. Getting your proposal captured is extremely special, but it was also important to have their actual engagement session, and what better place than Georgetown! I love whenever I get the change to photograph in DC (minus the traffic haha) and it made sense since Chris and Emily live right in Northern VA, only a 15 min drive away from gorgeous DC! We decided on The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal and apparently, every other photographer had this idea because we counted 6 portrait sessions going on and I am not lying! This place is gorgeous, it was the perfect day out and it was crowded, but Chris and Emily handled it like pros and we had a great time walking around to different spots with their dog Baxter.
They were such naturals and I loved their outfits, especially the fun floppy hat Emily decided to wear, which really pops in the photos, not to mention she is absolutely gorgeous! Chris is quite handsome himself and I often joked during our session that I bet some of these photos could be a album cover if him and Em were a duo (Chris is actually in band and he is quite talented!) I just love these two and I have been so blessed, they have always treated me like family right from the get go and I could not be more excited to capture their wedding day in St. Lucia in March!
