Katie's Maternity Portraits | Richmond VA Portrait Photographer

I’m finally getting around to sharing some of my Portrait work and Katie’s Maternity Session at Reedy Creek in Richmond are some of my favorites! Katie and Mike have since had their little girl (they chose not to find out the gender) and Bowen Grace is perfection. They now live in Charlottesville, but met in RVA at VCU and lived there for years, so it will always hold a place in their hearts, as it does for me too! I photographed their Wedding on April 8th, 2016 at The John Marshall Ballroom (you can view that HERE) and it is truly so rewarding being able to photograph a couple through their different seasons of life.

They are both very active and love the outdoors, so Katie had the idea of going to Reedy Creek, which I believe is part of the James River Park. It was a gorgeous day and despite the glaring afternoon sun (they only could shoot at 10am-noon because they had a wedding to attend later) I think we made it work just fine! There were so many great little hidden gems and I was obsessed with the tunnel and hanging ivy everywhere! Katie made pregnancy look effortless and she was equally as beautiful this day as she was on her Wedding Day. Mike was one proud Dad and of course we CANNOT forget to mention their first born, their rescue pup Dela. I was so so happy she joined us for this shoot, actually I insisted.
