Oh be still my heart … Taylor had a two piece wedding dress, her colors were pink and white, and she was getting married at Quirk because it fit her wedding vision PERFECTLY! Philip and her knew they wanted a small intimate wedding in a relaxed atmosphere, with great food, and Quirk fit the bill and then some. Richmond is one of their favorite cities and everything about Quirk screams Richmond, not to mention the hotel is so light and airy, the atmosphere is so welcoming, you just feel comfy and right at home.
It was calling for a hurricane on this rainy September day, so the ceremony had to be inside in the Mezzanine, but whenever the rain let up, we snuck outside for portraits. It was crazy windy on the rooftop, but I must say that Taylor has the best windblown hair look I’ve ever seen! She was just stunning in her two piece Jenny Yoo gown and Philips face lit up when he saw her for the first time. These two have a quiet kind of love, and I love that, they aren’t about the big hoopla and did not want the focus to be about them. They even considered eloping at one point, but decided against it because Taylor couldn’t shake the idea of getting married at Quirk, she was in love with it! I think its fair to say their closest family and friends were in love with it too, as they enjoyed a nice relaxing luncheon with amazing food from Maple & Pine, and the whole day was unplugged (yes!!) so it was truly just about the company and good conversations.
Taylor and Philip have been dating since the 10th grade, but took a break after their senior year and reconnected while in college. They went to two different schools, but wrote letters to each other frequently to keep the relationship going strong long distance while they each had their own hectic schedules. I love this because on their wedding day they each wrote sweet letters to each other, but this time it was different, because they were about to get married! It truly was such an honor to photograph this special and incredibly beautiful day, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two. Congratulations to Taylor and Jason!
