Melrose Knitting Mill Wedding | Katy + Zach

Katy and Zach are the most laid back, sweetest couple EVER! Between Katy’s smile and Zach’s laugh, it wad hard to tell who had the most fun during our engagement photos last summer in Richmond. You can view them HERE! They were originally going to get married in RVA, but a new job opportunity relocated Katy back to Raleigh, NC and Zach joined her not soon after. They had lived there before so got to reunite with lots of family and friends, but the move was bittersweet because they loved Richmond so much, as do I! We always talk about how amazing it is, especially all the local restaurants and breweries. I am so thankful they had their engagement photos (which scream Richmond) to look back on.

Their Wedding now had to be moved to Raleigh and I was super excited to be able to shoot in a new city, with a new venue and The Melrose Knitting Mill did not disappoint (I could have sworn I was in Miami!) Katy and Zach chose it for many reasons, but they loved the brick, NC State is known for all the red brick around campus. NC State is what brought them together, where they met, so it was very setimental. Brick also reminded them of their first shared memories and apartment in Richmond, an old warehouse loft with exposed brick.

Zach + Katy deserved the best day and this particular summer day in Raleigh was perfection. I can’t wait to see what life has in store for this sweet couple next!

I was obsessed with Katy’s engagement ring during their engagement photos and am still obsessed with it now!! How gorgeous is it?!

Love that they used their engagement photos on the champagne bottles to enjoy as the girls were getting ready!

This was seriously the cutest Chapel I have ever seen!

By far the coolest venue I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at in a long time! Absolutely LOVED the ambiance!

Their cake topper was from Katy’s grandparents, who have since passed, so it was very special to her and Zach, having a little piece of them there. I loved that so much!

They are down for anything, which is why I love them so much! The planner Steph got a ladder and they climbed up into this doorway for some amazing photos!!

DJ Eric was AMAZING!! Absolutely loved working with him, he made sure every guest had a blast and even gave the newlyweds a little lesson, they rocked it!
