Crystal and Derek are so adorable and its Crystal’s Birthday today, so Happy Birthday!!  When Crystal and I began talking about locations for their engagement session, she knew right away she wanted an urban feel, but also some natural nature shots.  We certainly accomplished all that and more! I am just in awe of Richmond and all it has to offer, especially its art which is always growing and changing.  This post is perfect timing since we are in the midst of The Richmond Mural Project 2014, which their mission is to make Richmond the top destination for Murals in the US.

We started at the mural “Kiss From Space” at 9 West Grace Street just as the sun was rising, in order to beat the cars that park there to start their work day.  Thank goodness for my clients that will get up super early, essentially doing whatever it takes to get the shots that we envision together!  We then headed to Pipeline, The Canal, Belle Isle, and ended at Hollywood Cemetery.  Crystal and Derek were so amazing through it all, we had a blast, and I cannot wait to capture your Wedding Day next year at The John Marshall!

I LOVE this photo below, it reminds me of J-Lo (Jenny from the Block) circa 2002!

How cool is this?! Crystal loves to run (in fact, we bonded over how we both ran our first half marathon, The Richmond half back in November 2013, I think we’re both going to do it again this year?!) so they customized their own Nike’s! Her’s has the date on the back (on the heel) and Derek’s says it on the tongue of the shoe.

Crystal you are GORGEOUS! And I’m a weirdo and am obsessed with teeth and you have PERFECT teeth 🙂

And of course, a jumping one just for fun … Derek was a pro!
