I had a blast with Jake, Ashley, and their adorable rescue dog Piper, while taking their Fairview Farm engagement photos, where they will return to when they get married in June! It was a very hot, but beautiful day, I was amazed at how well Ashley was prepared with not 2 outfits, but 4, and how GORGEOUS she looked in ALL of them! Jake was equally amazing, I love when guys are into taking photos and by the end of the session, they both could have passed for professional models.
Jake was a Braves fan from birth because his parents, especially his late mother, were huge fans, and as he grew up, they all enjoyed watching/attending games together. Jake played baseball throughout high school and Ashley played softball, they both have always shared the common passion for the game, so naturally Ashley adopted this love for the Braves when they started dating. One of their dreams is to eventually attend a game at every MLB stadium, how cool is that?! I truly believe they will do it!
It was Ashley’s idea to adopt sweet Piper, their “fur baby” at the end of last year, and I was over the moon excited when I learned they would be bringing her to the shoot. Piper was very shy and nervous, I’d like to think I’m the “Dog Whisperer,” but she was definitely unsure of me and this big camera, but I think we got some adorable shots! Ashley and Jake were telling me that it took about 6 months for her to trust them and come out of hiding, so I’d say she’s come a long way. Even though Piper was originally Ashley’s choice (Jake was reluctant at first, because of the timing and the huge responsibility), Jake and Piper now have an incredible bond, which was evident at the shoot. Piper has really grown to show them her goofy personality and her sass (my kind of pup!) and they always joke that after they get married, Ashley will keep brining home dogs! Haha, my kind of bride!

This engagement session and blog post is dedicated to Jake’s mother who passed away only a few short weeks before the shoot, ultimately losing her battle with cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with their families.
