Shakia + Ricky | Dorey Park Wedding

Shakia and Ricky are so adorable and I’ve been looking forward to their wedding day at Dorey Park ever since their engagement session. They are so fun loving, really laugh about anything, and I never saw them ever stress out about wedding planning. Probably due to the fact they had hired Adrienne of Heart’s Content Event & Design, a beautiful soul inside and out. I was so excited to work with her again, amongst many other amazing vendors.

Shakia and Ricky met at college, but they attended rival colleges, she went to Hampton and he was at Norfolk State, so they most certainly were’t rooting for the same team. I would have to guess that 90% of their wedding guests belonged to fraternities and sororities. I was beyond impressed with not only the dancing skills, but the full blown choreographed routines performed, I felt like I was in a movie! At one point the ladies were battling the men, it was incredible!

I should mention that it was very cold this day, but everyone took it in stride and it was a beautiful ceremony, these two are so natural with each other and you can just tell they are so in love. It was an honor to be able to capture these memories for them!
